James graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (with 1st-class Honours in English Literature) in 2011. James was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 4 September 2012. In addition, James is entitled to practice in all Australian Federal Courts.
James specialises in commercial and corporate litigation, corporate advisory, wills & estate planning and insolvency law. He acts for clients in the Magistrates Court, District Court and the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
In recent years, James has accrued experience acting in complex litigations in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, including claims under the Family Provision Act 1972, the Criminal Property Confiscation Act 2000 and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (formerly the Trade Practices Act).
Since 2015, James has been a sitting member of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Young Lawyers’ Committee.
In his spare time, James is an active proponent in the Perth dramatic arts scene. He has been a member of the Black Swan Emerging Writers’ Group, appears in productions at the Blue Room Theatre and is co-founder of his own non-profit theatre company, Showroom Theatre.
